UVA graduate David Tolmie has spent the past two decades working in private equity, supporting the creation of hundreds of businesses and millions of jobs. Join Tolmie as he reccounts his experience working in the for-profit sphere and how he later pivoted to pursue a more impact-centered career. Tolmie will discuss some of his biggest challenges and successes navigating the realm of Social Entrepreneurship as the Chairman of the Board of Opportunity International as well as the Chairman of the Faraja Foundation.
Dave Tolmie (UVA Class of 1977) is a Senior Partner with The Edgewater Funds, a private equity firm based in Chicago, IL. Tolmie joined Edgewater in 2001 and has helped grow the firm into a prominent fund with over $1.4 billion in committed capital. Tolmie serves as Chairman of the Board of Opportunity International, one of the largest micro finance organizations in the world, as well as the Chairman of the Faraja Foundation Fund which supports the Faraja Primary School for children with physical disabilities in Tanzania, Africa.
