The University of Virginia Pay for Success Lab Joins Coalition of Organizations Championing Innovative and Effective Solutions to our Country’s Most Pressing Social Problems
/Charlottesville, VA – The University of Virginia Pay for Success Lab today became the newest member of the America Forward Coalition, a network of more than 70 social entrepreneur organizations that champion innovative, effective, and efficient solutions to our country’s most pressing social problems.
“Joining the America Forward coalition is a great honor for the PFS Lab and Social Entrepreneurship @ UVA,” Josh Ogburn, Director of the UVA Pay for Success Lab, said. “We are the first university-based organization to become a part of this impressive coalition. We are ready to direct our world class resources towards researching and advancing projects that create meaningful outcomes for communities in Virginia and across the nation.”
Director of Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Virginia, Christine Mahoney, noted “This will provide further opportunities for SE@UVA student researchers to learn about social innovation directly from the thought-leaders that are driving results-based interventions forward nationwide.”
The America Forward Coalition was established in 2007. Members of the America Forward Coalition are achieving measurable outcomes in more than 14,500 communities nationwide, touching the lives of 8 million Americans each year, and driving progress in education, workforce development, early learning, poverty alleviation, public heath, Pay for Success, social innovation, national service, and criminal justice reform. Together its member organizations have leveraged $1.5 billion for social innovation and have driven millions of federal resources toward programs that are achieving measurable results for those who need them most.
